How is it July already?! Apologies for the temporary hiatus; life has been a little bit… lifey… of late. Anyway, after an interesting week for me, here's a little life thought to take into the weekend.
Do The Thing.
This Tuesday I was on a podcast talking about my experiences a couple of decades ago, when I took a deep breath and walked away permanently from school teaching. I've been slightly stunned by the responses I've had, from teachers who were disillusioned and burned out, but who were finally starting to see a way out themselves.
Then on Wednesday, an opportunity came up out of the blue to do something non-work that I've been wanting to do for years. Making decisions was evidently in the forefront of my mind. So I Did The Thing. I now own a fully working sousaphone.
So if you have something niggling in your mind, whether it's work or something entirely separate: consider the worst that could happen. Consider what positive change it might bring. Talk to a couple of people. Then, if there's no obvious reason to hold off any longer...
Just Do The Thing.
And let me know how you get on!
PS no spaniels were harmed in the making of this decision. She's not mad. She's just disappointed.
"How is it July already?" I've said this at the beginning of every month for the past few years and it is getting scary how time flies by. Sometimes, everyone needs a reminder to Just Do The Thing. Thank you for the reminder.
